Top Mobile Marketing Campaigns During First Quarter

SMS Marketing, or text marketing, is one of the best channels to reach consumers on their mobile device because reality is, not everyone has a smart phone or the ability to download apps. As a result, brands such as Starbucks, Coca-Cola and General Mills are all incorporating mobile marketing text campaigns into their strategies.

Sms texting is a great way for brands to connect with consumers on a deeper level as well as communicate at trade shows.  Additionally, marketers are able to build their databases to better target users in the near future.

Here are 5 of the top 10 SMS campaigns of the first quarter, in alphabetical order.

1.      Ace Hardware stores in several states, used SMS to deliver weather-related text alerts and special offers to help consumers prepare for when the bad weather hits.

2.      Aveeno placed mobile calls-to-action on its magazine print advertisements. When consumers texted the keyword HAIRS to the short code 467467 they were able to receive a free sample.

3.      Coca-Cola is a veteran to SMS marketing, it was no surprise that the company tapped the channel when it came to promoting its initiative for March Madness.

4.      General Mills’ Cheerios brand leveraged SMS to help drive mobile donations for its Spoonfuls of Stories program.

5.      JCPenney Department store promoted its Easter dresses via text marketing to drive consuers in-store for a one-day event.

Rounding out the top 10 were Macy’s, Reese’s, Rite Aid, Starbucks and the US Tennis Association (USTA).
