Many people have heard of a Pac Code, but they’re not sure what they actually do. Some people wrongly think that they unlock mobiles, which is completely incorrect, they are thinking of PUK codes. PAC code stands for Port Authorisation Code and allows people to keep their existing mobile phone number when changing mobile phone networks. It is a bit of a hassle, you have to get in touch with your network and request it and then they either give you the number over the phone or send it to you in two days, then you pass it onto your new mobile phone operator. While the change is happening you’re given a temporary number to use so it’s all very complicated, but ask yourself which is more complicated? Getting in touch with people to tell them you’ve changed your number or getting in touch with your old network to ask for it?
